Primal Groudon and Kyogre Change Through Primal Reversion
by Poke-Amph on June 10, 2014

primal-kyogreWhat initially appeared to be Mega Evolutions of Groudon and Kyogre are actually Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. They achieve this form through Primal Reversion, where they reclaim their original power from nature to become stronger. It seems Primal Reversion and Mega Evolution are potentially linked, but more information is currently unknown.

Beyond their new glowing features, the Primal versions grow bigger in size. Primal Groudon becomes a Fire and Ground-type Pokemon with increased Attack power. The glowing energy highlighting Primal Groudon pours out of its body as magma, giving off light.

Whereas Primal Groudon enlarges slightly, Primal Kyogre more than doubles in size. Energy escapes its body in the form of seawater. The Primal form of Kyogre gains a Special Attack boost, which makes sense considering its newly found size.

The story of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will delve deeper into the background behind Mega Evolution, and the two new Primal Pokemon will no doubt have a part in it. New types of Mega Stones will certainly be found in Hoenn when the games release on November 21st.
